Local Yacht Salesman Wins National Award for Sales and Marketing
San Diego—October 18, 2011—Ian Van Tuyl, a San Diego yacht sales professional, was just awarded “Top Sales and Marketing for 2011” by Jeanneau, a leading global manufacturer of high-end production sailboats. Van Tuyl was selected for his high sales volume and his marketing expertise at the 2011 Jeanneau Dealer Meeting at the Annapolis, Maryland Boat Show in early October.
Van Tuyl—who started his yacht sales career in 2006 after 7 years of working in boat service and rigging-- has quickly become one of the nation’s top salesmen for new and used yachts like Jeanneau, Beneteau, Hunter, and Catalina. Known for his selection of over 200 YouTube videos of new and used sailboats and powerboats for sale, Van Tuyl attracts buyers and sellers from all over the world. He has represented boaters in Australia, France, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Florida, and Maryland, in addition to the California coast.

Ian has 14 years experience in the yacht industry and currently works for Cruising Yachts Inc, the largest yacht dealership on the West Coast. He has sold more than 10 million dollars in boats and consistently wins awards for his sales production and customer service.
Previously, he worked as project manager for Nautical Enterprises, where he commissioned more than 150 yachts, including Jeanneau, Hunter, Beneteau, Catalina, Saber, Tartan, C&C, Navigator, Fairline, Silverton and more, personally installing custom add-ons, electronics, generators, and water makers. Ian’s keen eye for detail, strict work ethic and energetic approach quickly won him the praise and respect of clients and yacht professionals alike.
In his sales position, Ian translates his hands-on expertise and customer service-savvy into a rewarding experience for both new yacht owners and seasoned sailors. He diligently walks customers through every step of the buying process, from choosing a yacht to carefully selecting unique customizations and add-ons.
